The long awaited and highly anticipated long travel 29er from Evil is here! Meet: the Evil Wreckoning. When Evil set out to build this frame, they wanted to push the limits and redefine what a long travel 29er was capable of. Evil creates bikes that are fun to ride, and the Evil ‘The Wreckoning’ is the newest addition to their arsenal of seriously badass bikes.

So let’s start off with the basics – the Wreckoning runs 29” wheels, features Boost 148 rear spacing for added stiffness, and runs a 73mm threaded bottom bracket. Also note that the seatpost diameter on this bike is 34.9mm which is larger than most frames. This was done to suit longer dropper posts and improves the structural integrity of the frame. With 161mm of rear suspension travel, this bike really puts itself in a class of its own. In the ‘low’ setting, the Evil Wreckoning has a head angle of 66.1 degrees and 74.8 degree seat angle. While the low setting should suit most riders, those looking for an aggressive edge when descending can flip it into the ‘Extra Low’ setting to achieve a 65.5 degree HA and a 73.9 degree SA. All of this geometry is taken using a 160mm fork.
Some might question the climbing capability of the bike given the longer travel and aggressive geometry, but you will be pleased to know that the Wreckoning is plenty capable making it up hills thanks to their DELTA link platform. Not familiar with DELTA? It is the Dave Weagle designed ‘Dave’s Extra Legitimate Travel Apparatus’ suspension system designed just for Evil frames and comes spec’d with a 8.5 x 2.5 RockShox Monarch Plus RC3+ Debonair. Climbing, however, is not this bikes specialty. The Evil Wreckoning really shines when you are charging balls to the wall down whichever trail pleases you. Pick a line and pin it, this bike will take anything you throw at it and then some. While very stable at high speed, the Wreckoning still can change lines when your cajones don’t feel big enough for what lies ahead.
Similar to its 27.5” brethren, the Wreckoning comes fitted with an integrated carbon chainguide and features internal cable routing for that sleek look. It also includes an FSA sealed bearing headset and Boost rear axle. Like the other Evil bikes, the Wreckoning is constructed of high quality carbon at one of the top carbon manufacturers in the world. We have been riding Evil frames for some time now and have never had any issues, nor has any customer we have sold a frame too. To back this up, Evil offers a 3 year manufacturer’s warranty in the event something does go wrong. The frame comes in Medium, Large, and X-Large, and sizing recommendations per Evil is as follows:
Medium: 5’8” – 6’0”
Large: 6’0” – 6’4”
X-Large: 6’4” +
