Groupsets / Drivetrain Bundles

When thinking of replacing your drivetrain on your bike, may it be with the same components, a new brand, or upgrading, there are a lot of options from brands like SRAM and Shimano, as well as smaller brands emerging with great options like Box Components, Microshift, and TRP. Before looking into your drivetrain, you need to know a few key things about your setup, as there are some compatibility concerns with this system that helps you ride your bike. Are you looking to go from a 2x or 3x system and install a 1x drivetrain on your bike, meaning no front derailleur? Most mountain bike drivetrains are now only 1x, so there isn't a front derailleur, but rather just a rear derailleur, cassette, chain, front chainring/crankset, and a shifter. There are 1x systems for 9 speed, 10 speed, 11 speed and 12 speed. SRAM makes the most complete groups followed by Shimano and then Box.

SRAM’s newest 1x drivetrains are all 12 speed and live under the family called SRAM Eagle. SRAM has many 12 speed options including SRAM XX1 and X01 AXS Eagle, SRAM XX1 Eagle, SRAM X01 Eagle, SRAM GX Eagle, SRAM NX Eagle and SRAM SX Eagle. Shimano also has a few 12 speed drivetrain options with Shimano XTR, Shimano XT and Shimano SLX. SRAM and Box Components also make great E-Bike specific parts. When looking for a new drivetrain, you can either buy a complete kit offered by the brand, a kit we put together that might have a little bit of mix and match parts from the same brand or different brands, or you can just pick and choose each part you want.
