RaceFace Atlas Pedals

Overview

Mountain bike flat pedals have gotten very good in recent years, so when it comes time to introduce something new, one can imagine there are some standards to live up to. They must have good grip, pedal feel, and aesthetics while also being reasonably lightweight. The new Atlas pedals check all the boxes of a modern flat pedal. They've got a thin, concave profile with more pins than before (10 pins per side) as well as a relatively light weight sitting at 376 grams for the pair. Measurements come out to 110mm x 108mm for the platform while the body is 12mm thick, for those who are into the numbers. Design wise, the topo map look adds a cool element to it that is pretty unique as far as pedals go. RaceFace also offers them in 9 colors to satisfy all your matchy-matchy needs.

Mechanically, the Atlas has adjustable pins, and overall they are more user serviceable thanks to no need for any custom tools. As far as maintenance goes, they are riding on oversized bearings that are claimed to provide increased durability and longevity over their predecessors. So far so good on our end, and these pedals have been spinning nicely while providing grip for days.

Final Thoughts

All in all, these pedals have been extremely solid and have not disappointed us. They provide a ton of grip, feel great while out on the trail, and look sweet on the bike. While not cheap, you get what you pay for and these pedals are dialed in.
