Customer Review: Strider 12 Sports Kids Balance Bike

This review was written by Christian Worby. He recently decided it was time to pick up a Strider Balance bike to start the youngin' on what many of us would consider an uncontrollable addiction. Most other people would just call them bikes. Let's see what he had to say!

Strider 12 Balance Bike Review

A couple of months after my son turned 2, we figured it’d be a great idea to get him a balance bike. After comparing the options in Strider’s balance bike line, we settled on the 12 Sport. The 12 Sport comes with two different lengths of seat posts, so they claim it should be good for kids aged 18 months to 5 years…whereas the cheaper model just comes with a shorter seat post. It also has quick-connects for easy adjustment of handlebars and saddle height. When the bike arrived, my son and I put it together in the space of a few minutes, and then he got right to riding. Around a month later, the improvements in his riding abilities have been a joy to watch!

We have a great time cycling around the yard and driveway together, and he’s become confident enough on his bike that I now feel comfortable letting him ride on the sidewalk…just so long as I’m between him and traffic! This really is a fantastic gateway into the world of “real” cycling, and I can’t recommend it enough for any adventure-loving toddler. Oh…but watch out in case your kiddo has an innate desire to huck off the nearest ledge! Sometimes the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree… ^_^*
