Hydraulic brakes have become standard on Mountain Bikes, and they need to be bled periodically in order to function properly. SRAM makes the Pro Bleed kit for those who want a high quality bleed at home. Our friend, Mark got his hands on a set. See what they think!
I purchased the SRAM Pro Blake Bleed Kit for the Guide brakes on my Stumpjumper. The kit contains all the equipment needed to bleed the brakes quickly and cleanly. This kit also contains the bleeding edge tool for the newer style SRAM calipers. The syringes in this kit seal up nicely and allows you to pull a strong vacuum without having any micro bubbles appear.
Extra things that come in handy with this kit is an assortment of bleed blocks and a T10/T25 combo wrench. The addition of this wrench is nice because I don't need to worry about getting DOT fluid on my other tools.
This is a high quality kit that will last a long time if taken care of.
The only negative I can think of for this kit is that the DOT bottle will leak once its been opened. If you plan on storing all the contents of this kit in the box with the DOT fluid be sure to keep it upright.
This kit contains extra O-Rings, compression fittings, and barbed tubing inserts. With all the extra consumables in this kit your brakes should be good to go for a while. Be sure to check out the instructions from SRAM for your model brakes if you have are not familiar with their bleeding procedures.
