As mountain bikes seemingly never stop changing, Yeti Cycles has done a great job at keeping up with and staying on top of these changes. New to the changing XC racing scene, Yeti has introduced the all-new SB100. A beefed up 29", 120mm/100mm shred sled ready to be manned by Geoff Kabush himself. For all those PinkBike users that hate the standard bottle placement on the other Yeti models, you are in luck. There is room inside the frame for a bottle! Some will call it a trail bike, some will call it a cross-country bike but no one classifies it better than Yeti themselves.
"THIS IS WHAT WE CAN DO WITH SHORT TRAVEL, 100 GENRE-KILLING MILLIMETERS. WITH TODAY'S KNOWLEDGE, MATERIALS, DROPPER POSTS, AND RIDING STYLES IT UNIFIES IT ALL. IF SOME PEOPLE ASSUME IT'S A DOWNHILLER'S XC BIKE, WE SAY WHATEVER. TO US, IT'S SIMPLY THE SB100." -YETI

Although the SB100 is more geared towards XC riding, there is no reason why you wouldn't be able to use this a standard trail bike. It is completely capable! No detail was spared in engineering this bike as can be seen with the redesigned Switch Infinity link that was designed just for 100mm of travel. With smaller stanchions, it saves a good amount of weight. The link is also turned perpendicular and tucked behind the seat-tube. Performance of the Switch Infinity link is top notch as always as it is still manufactured by Fox Shox, using their bushing, seals, and Kashima Stanchions.

One of the key features of this frame is the seat-tube design, which is straight. This allows you to run longer dropper posts to actually get that seat out of the way on those technical descents. With the design of a straight seat-tube, it also allows for a water bottle to be mounted inside of the frame (unlike the rest of their line up which is often hated on for getting covered in mud.)
Weight was not an issue when building this bike, although many steps were taken in order to keep it in the XC category. You will see the SB100's build kits rolling out of the shop running 2.3 Maxxis Tires, Fox Transfer Dropper Post, 180mm rotors and the all-new Fox Shox 34 Step-Cast Fork.
The frame will be offered in both carbon layouts to match the rest of the lineup and help out those who have a smaller budget. The TURQ Series bikes (5.50lbs or 2.49kg) are made with the highest quality carbon fiber available and offer the perfect balance of stiffness and compliance. The result is a bike that feels smooth, solid and aggressive. CARBON Series (6.06lbs or 7.75kg) have small changes in the carbon fiber allowing for a more aggressively priced high-performance frame while maintaining similar strength and stiffness of its higher-end sibling.
