Overview

A combination of things led me to purchase the Quarq ShockWiz. First off, I was finding myself at a loss with my new fork having HSC, LSC, HSR, and LSR. While I am an adept bike mechanic, it pains me to say that I was doing nothing but making my ride worse, varying between a pogo stick and a near rigid fork. So I took the plunge and purchased it through Worldwide Cyclery, who has always treated me great.

Initial Thoughts

Set upon the Quarq ShockWiz was simple. Attach it to the bike, connect with your smartphone, and it will guide you through the setup steps. I started with the fork, as I figured those would be more significant changes. The unit asks you to ride about in varying conditions for about 30 minutes, give or take while compiling data. A score is presented out of 100psi and suggestions are made to improve performance. After four cycles, I had my fork at 100psi and the feel was night and day improved. Repeated the process with my shock, which required far less input.

Final Thoughts

All in all, the unit not only helped me to sort out my fork but to start to understand the different changes and how they affected the ride. I would 100 percent purchase again. If nothing else, it gathers a wealth of data that is fun to read through. I would highly recommend both the Quarq ShockWiz and Worldwide Cyclery. Excellent customer service, always!
