RockShox's Reverb AXS dropper post is arguably the most revolutionary version of one of the most innovative mountain bike components. AXS Bluetooth integration offers instant dropper actuation without the hassle of cables. Our friend recently swapped to wireless. See what they think!

Overview

Is the $861 price tag on the RockShox Reverb AXS Dropper seat post - 31.6mm, 150mm, black, AXS remote worth it? I have been told that many people believe the dropper seat post was the single greatest improvement to mountain biking since the advent of full suspension. I think the Reverb makes the greatest improvement even better.

My husband purchased me the RockShox Reverb AXS Dropper seat post - 31.6mm, 150mm, black, AXS remote, A1 in January of 2023 from Worldwide Cyclery. I would highly recommend it to anyone for the following reasons. Prior to getting the Reverb, I used the YT Postman 31.6mm, 150mm and the ergonomics between the lever and the button are night and day.

The operation of the post is much easier with the Reverb, and the Reverb gives a clean and uncluttered cockpit. Due to the ease of installing and removing the Reverb controller and dropper post I handle the installation myself and can swap it between my bikes. If you have ever installed a seat on a seat post, you probably have experienced the fun in dialing it in or just getting all the parts to play nicely. With the Reverb you loosen one screw to install the seat on the post, and then to adjust the tilt, simply turn another screw left or right, to tilt up or down. All dropper posts on the market really need to adopt the installation design of the Reverb, anyone can do it.

The ergonomics and function of the wireless controller are well engineered. The mounting options for the controller really allow for significant customization of the location, angle, and button position of the controller on the bar. It is so easy to activate the controller, instead of pushing a lever, you are just clicking a button. The button is big and fits my thumb perfectly. I ride an E-Mountain Bike and I can easily slide my thumb between the power modes and the dropper post button on the controller. The lever on my postman required me to change my grip depending on my riding posting and push the lever further than I could stretch my thumb, but with the Reverb I can engage the controller from any position, because of the simplicity of just clicking the big button.

Due to the wireless design of the Reverb the dropper post can be inserted deeper into the frame. This would allow someone with longer legs than me to use the 170 mm post length and gain 20 mm more clearance too. The operation of the Reverb is powerful. With a click of the button on the controller the post goes from the low position to the high position or anything in between. If you like a no clutter cockpit, the Reverb is a must have. The wireless Reverb eliminates one more cable and creates clean and organized handlebars.

Final Thoughts

The only con I can find with the Reverb is remembering to keep the batteries charged, but I carry a spare, so my bases are covered
