OneUp Components EDC Toolkit and More: Rider Review

Our "Rider Review" article series features the honest reviews from verified purchasers of Worldwide Cyclery. They contain the photos, thoughts, feedback & overall review you are looking for.

Introduction

You never want to find yourself out for a ride and all of a sudden stuck because something broke, popped, or snapped. A multi-tool is definitely one of the most handy items you can carry with you at all times. And not just any multi-tool, the Oneup Components EDC tool. Fellow rider, Christopher Garrison, just picked one up and gives us his review. Check it out!

First off, Worldwide Cyclery employs top shelf people. They’re decent and helpful and their YouTube videos are fantastic. They haven’t screwed up any of my orders yet.

The EDC pump, tools, plugs, and pliers are easily the coolest things I’ve purchased for my bike so far. As a whole, it’s very low profile on the bike. Even when I screw up my footing on the pedals, it’s out of the way. The only negative thing I have to say about it is the water/dirt seal on the pump is a minor pain in the butt when using the actual pump as it separates for use and then you have to put it back on when you’re done. Again, very minor. The multi-tool has already come in handy multiple times. The only tool on it I haven’t used yet is the chain tool. It’s very sturdy and easy to use. Stays secure when it’s put away and comes out easily when you want it to. 5 stars for the entire EDC setup.

I’ve only got a little use out of the Park Tool adjustable torque driver, but I have zero complaints about it so far. I got it as part of my travel kit so I can accurately torque everything down when I fly anywhere. It’s compact enough to stay out of the way and since all the attachments are stored in the handle, it stays very well organized in my bag. 5 stars.

The Pedro’s chain pig is mostly good. It does what it advertises and cleans the chain very well. It’s easy to set up, use, and clean afterwards as well as stores in my toolbox neatly. The problem I have with it is it does not stay hooked on the derailleur while using it. I’ve used it 3 times so far and each time during the actual use of it I have to hook it back up at least 6 times during the course of the recommended 30 revolutions. 4 stars.

The All Mountain Style digital frame guards are amazing. Easy to put on, but I wish it came with at least a couple of alcohol wipes. I went to the store asking for isopropyl alcohol and they just looked at me like I was a crazy person. They’ve done their job so far and haven’t started to peel yet. As an added bonus, every single time that I’ve been riding since I put them on, I’ve had someone compliment my bike. 5 stars
