Maxxis Minion DHF DHR II Tire Combo Rider Review

Overview

I purchased the Maxxis Minion DHF / DHR II as the perfect combination for riding Pisgah single track and some local trails in Wilmington, NC. However, the first 400ish miles were all in Colorado on a mountain bike trip. These tires performed flawlessly. Zero flats and only a couple wrecks, likely riders fault.

Maxxis Minion DHF DHR II Tire Combo Rider Review

This is my second time running the Minion DHR II as a rear tire and the first time running the DHF as a front tire. The DHR II has been great in wet conditions and dry conditions. They do as good as you would expect a tire to perform on sandy single track on the Carolina coast. They aren’t the lightest tires, but as a heavy rider, puncture resistance is much more important. I’ve had no trouble with punctures that don’t seal up with these tires.

Maxxis Minion DHF DHR II Tire Combo Rider ReviewFinal Thoughts

I would highly recommend this combination for trail riding in all conditions. They compliment my Santa Cruz Hightower perfectly and allow for worry-free days of enjoyment on the trail.
