I purchased the Industry Nine Enduro 305 Wheelset (29" 15 x 110mm Thru Axle Front, 12 x 148mm Thru Axle Rear, SRAM XD Freehub, Black) to replace my DT Swiss XM551 27.5” wheels on my 2017 Yeti SB5+. I also purchased Maxxis Minion DHF Tire: 29 x 2.50", Folding, 60tpi, 3C, EXO, Tubeless Ready, Wide Trail, Black to run on the new wheelset. The wheel and tire combination is awesome. These wheels are very high quality and look awesome. The tires roll fast and have excellent grip on my trails in the Pacific Northwest in Oregon and Washington.
My first few rides on the Industry Nine & Maxxis set-up put a smile on my face. I immediately noticed the quicker engagement, which allowed me to get up some technical rock sections that I often had difficulties with. I also noticed a significantly reduced number of pedal strikes due to the larger wheels and quicker engagement. These wheels are lighter and stiffer than my OEM wheels which are confidence inspiring and I noticed I can carry more speed into and out of corners. The wheels and tires roll faster and seem to accelerate quicker. I noticed I could pull up faster to the back of my riding buddies when coasting than on my 27.5 wheels.
These wheels are by far one of the best upgrades I have made to date! They are so fun to ride on and love the sound of the rear hub. As with all Maxxis tires, the Minion DHFs work great on the front and rear. I highly recommend these wheels and tires. If you are looking for an upgrade that is worth every penny, this is it!
