E*Thirteen TRSr SL Wheelset: Customer Review

Overview

I searched pretty wide for a good set of carbon hoops which matched my needs for a new do-it-all trailbike, a Norco Sight 29. I need wheels which can get rowdy on the descents, hold up to aggressive riding on real terrain, but also not feel like an anchor when riding 8000+’ of vert in a day. There are lots of options out there, but the E*Thirteen TRSr SL wheels were a no-brainer after some analysis.

The TRSr SL wheelset checked all the boxes for me. They are moderately wide, light enough for long days in the saddle, stiff and strong enough to take some abuse, reasonably priced for what they are, good hubs with lots of engagement, and have a great warranty. Lifetime!!! Hard to believe, I was a little unclear on the details of this warranty so checked directly with e*thirteen. If you break them, they’ll set you up with a new one, period. Even if you drive into your garage with bikes on top – hope I never take advantage but I’m embarrassed to admit I’ve done this twice. Break them in the first year and you’ll get a whole new wheel, after that – a new rim. There are lot of carbon wheel options out there, but the warranty and great price from Worldwide Cyclery sold me.

The service I received from E*thirteen and Worldwide Cyclery has been top notch. I had a couple questions direct for E*thirteen which were answered quickly. I’ve heard several good reports from riders who have needed service or warranty that felt they were well taken care of. I’ve purchased from a lot bike shops and feel that Worldwide Cyclery goes above and beyond: helpful staff, awesome communication, beat their already-aggressive estimated ship date (had to order wheels from E*thirteen), some free extras.

Final Thoughts

Extra spokes were included in the box - handy to have when you bust one on your next road trip. Tubeless was easy to setup and they have ridden great so far. I've ridden the full spectrum of mountain bike wheels in the last decade and am stoked to have so many great options these days - these wheels are great. Really looking forward to a few thousand miles of dirt on them this year! Buy a pair and get shreddin’ already!
