The Rockshox Recon Silver TK Fork has been the leader in the lower-end market of suspension forks for the past couple years. For many obvious reasons, Rockshox has continued to stay on top of both the high-end and low-end market. The Recon has seen very few changes over the past couple years. But Why?Well as the old timers once said, "If it ain't broken, don't fix it." This review was written by Lon Halvorson after recently upgrading to a RockShox Recon Silver TK Fork on his 1999 Schwinn Moab 2. Let's take a look and see how Lonnie likes the fork.
"I have been riding this fork hard! Like a rider on a bull. Angelo, I just wanted to say this thing has lasted through some pretty tough stuff and a bunch of crashes. Just this weekend I was hitting some stupid jumps and landing poorly. This Recon Silver TK takes it and makes it feel like butter. I have this fork on my old ‘99 Schwinn Moab 2 and it made this bike feel great. I basically brought this bike back to life, giving it CPR and resuscitating it back to an "actually ride-able" condition. This bike is old and has been through some s#!t. Being that I do not have the money to get a new bike, this fork was the best option for me and my budget. I love the rebound adjust and the remote lockout on it. RockShox Recon Silver TK Fork is very smooth and not terribly heavy. I would recommend anyone with 26 rims to get this fork. I have attached a few photos for you to see my setup here. I don't have any kind of fancy camera. Since getting this fork; I have upgraded my tires, handlebars, and stem. I hope you enjoy these pics as much so. I enjoy riding this beast of an old bike." - Lon Halvorson
