This Review was sent over to us by Jacob Sattler. He recently upgraded his fork to a RockShox Reba RL fork. Let’s take a look at what he had to say.
When deciding to purchase a new fork, I wanted to buy a lower end air fork with better responsiveness. I was doing my research and came across the RockShox Recon, a cheaper air fork than the Reba, but didn't fit the tire width that I like to run. I looked at the Reba and saw the extra 20mm of travel on the fork and the potential it could have to make my bike better on the front end. Previously, my bike had a cheap coil fork, so I had no air spring fork experience up until now.The RockShox Reba RL is more of a cross country fork, but for my area of riding it is very well suited. I bought the 120mm of travel version for 26" tires and it fits my 2.5" width of tires. I've only rode a few times since installation but am loving every minute so far. It's not the highest end air fork, but I don't need it to be. It is very nice to have a fork that is way more responsive than a coil fork.
The Reba RL is very good for small bump absorption and is able to take some gnarly rocks and roots. I put two RockShox's bottomless tokens in it to make the fork more progressive in the mid stroke and really like how I no longer sink into the travel of the fork in corners. If you decide to purchase this fork, you might want to invest into some bottomless tokens. I want to thank the guys at Worldwide Cyclery for awesome customer service and having high quality products!
