Five Ten Kestrel Lace Men's Clipless Pedal Shoes: Onix/Yellow, 10
I have been using more XC oriented shoes for a really long time. But, that's because I have had XC bikes. Made the switch to a Trail/All-Mountain rig a few years ago. Never looking back. The trails I ride are steep and rowdy with a lot of hike-a-bike sections and my old shoes didn't really liked to be walked in. In comes the FiveTen Kestrel Lace.
The Kestrel Lace is an amazing bike shoe. They are super comfortable to walk/hike in and the outer sole is stiff enough to get all the power transfer to the pedals. The Stealth Rubber has great grip for rock hopping. I usually wear a size 10 in all my shoes and therefor ordered a size 10. I would say they run true to size. The bed for the clips seemed a little to deep for my Crank Brothers Mallet pedals and I had to use a little shim. But, if you like your feet to feel completely planted and not have much wiggle room, then said shim won't be necessary. The Velcro strap along the top of the shoe keeps the laces from not getting caught on anything and helps tighten the shoe around your foot. You definitely get what you pay for.
