Do you struggle at all with the cockpit fit on your rode bike? The Zipp SL-70 Ergo handlebars might be the answer for you. In this review, one of our customers loves his new carbon handlebars. Read more!
I’ve always struggled with finding the perfect fit when it came to my bike’s cockpit. I have short arms and long legs (think T-Rex). So in order to compensate, I’ve always had to run a shorter stem. Running a short stem changes the bike handling characteristic quite a bit in a way I did not like. Then I came across Zipp SL-70 Ergo bars. They have a reach of 70mm which allowed me to keep the 90mm stem that I wanted. The handlebars have flat tops which also makes climbing a bit more enjoyable. I am way more comfortable and absolutely love the way my bike handles.
Now normally I wouldn’t go carbon on my race bike but since this is my “Dream Build” I decided to go for it. Paired with the Zipp carbon stem, the cockpit looks and feels amazing!! I highly recommend going this route. I never really thought the carbon bars would make much of a difference over aluminum but the ride is just sooooo good! The bars soak up so much road vibration which helps reduce fatigue on longer rides. When I’m putting down the watts out of the saddle the bars just feel so planted. There’s little to no flex and I feel one with the bike.
This is my 3rd pair of Zipp SL-70 Ergo bars and I have to say these are exactly what I was looking for. If you struggle with upper body fit and love the feel of carbon buy these bars! You won’t be disappointed!!
