Earlier this week, Zipp introduced the 3Zero Moto wheels. What is unique about this carbon wheelset is they are designed to actually flex and absorb impacts as you ride. One of the biggest issues with carbon mountain bike rims is that they can be too stiff which can ultimately lead to cracks and flats. Because of this, Zipp went about creating a seriously innovative set of wheels that utilize "ankle compliance" to pivot around harsh rocks and roots rather than bounce and deflect. To do so, they brought on riders like Jerome Clementz to test and compare the new Zipp wheels with others on the market. The result is a carbon MTB wheelset, unlike anything we have seen before. While Adam was in Portugal testing the new design, he got to sit down with Jerome and discuss his participation in the development of the 3Zero Moto. Check it out!
