Bleeding your brakes has been known to be a tedious task which is why most people just have the bike shops do it. With the recent advancements in brake technology, almost anyone can do it at home by themselves now. Our boy William did just that. Let's see how it went!
Are your brakes pulling to the bar? Do they feel too squishy? Is your braking performance decreasing or it's that time of year and you need to service your brakes? The SRAM bleed kit is your solution to all of your SRAM bleeding needs. It comes with enough DOT fluid to do about 3-4 bleeds and all the fittings and connectors for all different types of SRAM and Avid brakes including the new bleeding edge adaptor. There are also many different types of bleed blocks to fit your needs. There is even a crowfoot tool to loosen the nut on the lever if you need to and the parts to fit a new brake line. It is an incredible deal for the price and you get everything you would possibly need for a home bike mechanic or just someone who needs to bleed their brakes.
I am new to bleeding brakes and I have never bled a SRAM brake before. I have bled Shimano systems before. This kit, along with the video tutorial by SRAM, made it a piece of cake to bleed my guide brakes properly. In my opinion, the SRAM bleeding system is easier to bleed than the Shimano system because all you have to do is just screw in the syringe at the top and at the bottom and you are good to go! No messing with funnels and weird tubing that can spill everywhere. The only thing is that the brake fluid (DOT 5.1) is pretty gnarly. You don't want to get this stuff on your skin, or paint, or anywhere on your bike. Also, it's a good idea to wipe down/clean the syringes after use to help protect them for the long term.
"I would highly recommend this product to anyone who has a SRAM or Avid brake system looking to bleed their brakes. It's simple, easy to learn, and cost-effective. Now you don't have to take your bike to the shop to get a bleed! Now your friends are going to come to you and ask you to bleed their brakes." - William
