The RockShox Recon RL R Fork offers serious bang for the buck and is a great option for riders looking for an affordable fork upgrade. Our customer Steve was in need of update suspension and decided on the Recon RL. Check out his review and install for his thoughts on the product!
I have to say the RockShox Recon RL R Fork a has been a great upgrade to my bike. I installed the fork on a 27.5" Breezer Squall that my son and I share, so depending who is riding we adjust the air pressure on it. The process of adjusting the pressure is a matter of removing the protective cap over the Schrader valve and using a high-pressure fork pump adjust it to the recommended pressure. The trail we normally ride is littered with many roots and rocks as well as several jumps and larger obstacles. On the smaller stuff, the Recon RL R soaks it up with ease and I can definitely tell a difference as hand and forearm fatigue are reduced over my previous fork.
We have several jumps and drops on our trail and the fork does wonderfully on those as well, it resists bottoming out and still gives good compression to soak up the jump or drop. The installation was straightforward and easy. I decided to shorten the steerer tube by 1.5" inches which was easily accomplished as well.
The fit and finish on the fork are great and I believe it to be a great value for the money. It was shipped quickly to my door and was packaged well to protect the fork during shipping. I would have no problem recommending this fork to others as an upgrade to their bike.
