We all know that there's basically millions of different pedals on the market, and choosing a set can become overwhelming. We have found OneUp pedals to be among the best for their durability, price, and low profile. Our friend, Erica, has been trying them. See what they think!
I recently purchased a set of purple OneUp Comp platform pedals. I have always been a fan of Oneup components so I had no doubt that these pedals would be just as awesome as my other set. They are! The color was what I had expected it to be, brilliant purple! The purple color looks so good, OneUp has a great color selection but the purple is my favorite by far which will pair nicely with the color of my frame. The grip is grippy - my shoes will not slide off these things if I tried! That is one thing that I love about these flat pedals, the “spikes” will keep your feet from sliding off even if you have some pretty worn-down shoes.
These pedals can take a beating as well - I’ve unfortunately hit countless rocks on some rides and with the sound that comes after I could swear that there would be no spike left on my pedal after impact! But bam! Spikes intact. I came from clipless riding and these flat pedals were and will continue to be my go-to. They feel like a solid, take a beating pedal. The size of the platform is perfect, I have a smaller foot but I don’t feel that the pedal is overly bulky or big. They provide enough space to move around so my foot can be in a perfect position at all times.
Another great thing about these OneUp’s is when it comes to replacing the spikes they are universal, I had to grab a couple a while ago and my local bike shop had some spares. Again, this is my go-to pedal for mountain biking! I have another OneUp component scattered on my bike that hasn’t let me down, these pedals haven’t let me down, and with that being said I’d happily get another pair (even in a different color) just to have as a backup. I would definitely recommend this pedal or the aluminum to anyone interested in flat pedals.
Even though these are not mounted on my bike yet, I have all the confidence in them that they will do exactly what they are supposed to do. I think if something works for you, a brand for instance, why change it if it works for you? Colors are always satisfying, functionally they work like they are supposed to, and I get compliments on them.. so yeah I can confidently say that I am more than happy with these guys!
