Arguably the invention of the dropper seat post is the single component that has changed the way people ride forever. These days most trail/enduro bikes come standard with a dropper post which helps with both climbing and descending. Our friend Michelle shares some thoughts on the Fox Transfer dropper post. Check it out!
So here I am, a newbie that’s in my forties who decided to take up mountain biking as a new sport. Maybe a good idea, maybe not... After upgrading from my first bike (a freebie no-name brand) I learned how great a dropper post can be.
The Fox Transfer Dropper Post Performance Series seemed to get great reviews from everyone and also had the advantage of not having any hydraulics to deal with. It is extremely smooth and you can modulate the return speed with the lever (which I replaced with the wolf tooth on a recommendation.) It has a little side to side play which I’ve been told is normal with any dropper post. I don’t notice it while riding though.
The installation was pretty straightforward and simple. If you need a step-by-step video Fox has one on their site.
Although this is my first dropper post and I don’t have another brand to compare it to I would recommend it. I couldn’t find anything about it that I didn’t like and it has really helped my technical abilities.
