Employee Custom Ride: Andy’s Transition Sentinel

Andy is known for being the Operations Chief here at Worldwide Cyclery, and for being featured in one of BKXC's most viewed videos on a local trail called Suicide. Being the Captain of the Ship, you bet he'll be riding the best of the best. This time he tried something different and stepped off a Yeti after 2 years of riding the SB6 and SB5.5. What better than Transition's new Sentinel! Studying their new SBG Technology, he had no other choice than to try this thing out! Let's see what he is riding and why.

What are you riding and why? I am riding a Transition Sentinel because it's new and I really wanted to try the new geometry design they have going. I love long travel 29ers, so I had to try out this beast! 

How does she ride? It rides like a dream. Very big bike so it isn't the most playful, however it is very stable and feels great. I prefer a planted bike that is comfortable in the saddle as well and this bike definitely does the trick.

What are some key upgrades you have done to the bike? Carbon Raceface wheels, cranks, and bars along with a 170mm KS dropper post and TRP G Spec Quadium brakes.

Why did you modify that? I wanted to make the bike lighter since the frame weighs quite a bit, so that is why I went with carbon parts. I have always been a big Race Face fan and this is the first build I have had with Next R parts. They are the perfect fit for an aggressive "enduro" rig! I used to ride Sram Guide RSC brakes but wanted to mix it up. The power of Shimano's was tempting; however I like brakes with good modulation as well. The TRP's look rad, and work even better than I could have hoped. I think I will be running them on my next few bikes as well now.
