Continental Cross King Tire [Rider Review]

Overview

Performance: These tires are excellent for intended purpose. Great for gravel, trail, and even moderate singletrack. These tires are extremely versatile. Minimal rolling resistance while maintaining significant traction during cornering. I've been able to run lower tire pressures making the ride a much more comfortable feel. The weight savings without the tubes is noticeable when riding. I am very pleased with the performance of these tires.

Install: Extremely easy to install. Tires were easy to fit and the bead seated perfectly on the first inflation. This was surprising to me considering I run a narrow rim for the tire size I purchased (2.3 in for 19mm rim). However, I had no issues and have not had any since. I've had no leakage of tire sealant and no rolling of the tire or separation from the rim. The tires maintain pressure consistently and after putting 30 miles on them appear to be in excellent shape.

Price: these tires are an excellent value. When compared to tires of similar performance, I would say the Crosskings are in the top 3 best all-around values. You get a lot of tire for a great price. I am thinking about purchasing a second set to install on my wife's new Trek Marlin 5. This bike currently has some nice Bontrager tires, however they simply don't perform as well as the Crosskings. My wife rode my bike the other night and quickly put in her request for a set of Continentals.
