SRAM T-Type

Since the release of SRAM's T-Type drivetrain, it has been a very popular product among riders, and rightfully so. The ability to shift under full (and I mean FULL) power is seriously impressive, plus they have addressed some of the issues that plagued the previous generation AXS derailleurs such as the weak clutch and the ability to replace all of the specific components of the derailleur. When it comes to the cassette, they have modified the gear ratios ever so slightly so the change from the second to largest cog to the largest cog isn't nearly as extreme as it used to be. All of these factors contribute to create a robust yet refined system that is already a popular sight out on the trails and the racetrack. Add to that the updated "pod" controller which has replaced the previous rocker paddle with two buttons, and a more adjustable matchmaker compatible interface. This allows you to get the pod more underneath the grip, a position which I've found to be more intuitive and ergonomically comfortable. I personally only have a few rides on my transmission equipped Forbidden Druid V2 so far, but I can truthfully say it's the most impressive drivetrain I've ever experienced.

Vittoria Air-Liner Tubeless Insert

Tubeless tire inserts have become all the rage lately, and there several good reasons why. One reason is that they allow you to run a lower tire pressure yet still allow you to retain a level of support when pushing hard into corners or when you are sustaining impacts from rocks and roots. Another great reason why they are so popular is they help protect your rims from hard impacts which would otherwise deform or destroy them. Vittoria's inserts have been in the news quite a bit lately, with their Air-Liner and Air-Liner Light inserts, the latter weighing in at a shocking 50 grams. This makes it a no brainer to run on your XC or trail bike if you happen to have a habit of smashing into things or simply enjoy it as a pastime. 

FOX Transfer Performance Elite Dropper Seat Post

The Fox Transfer dropper post has been around for some time now, and this current version is the best yet. You'd hope so, right? The ability to remove the collar on the post and add a bit of slick honey is a welcome improvement over the previous generation, which was quite difficult to perform any sort of service on for the home mechanic. As someone who enjoys working on their own bike, this was awesome to see. The Performance Elite version shown here does without the flashy kashima coating and will match the stanchions of whatever suspension brand your bike is equipped with, while still offering excellent performance and that signature Fox Transfer top out sound. 

RockShox Damper Upgrade Kit - Charger2.1 RC2

Dampers are the main contributing factor to how your suspension feels, and a quality damper is a key component to a high performing fork. RockShox's Charger 2.1 damper isn't their newest damper, but it's still an excellent damper with plenty of adjustability that can be had for a nice little discount since the newest model is out there. Featuring independent low speed and high speed compression and rebound adjustments, you can dial in your fork to exactly how you want it to feel out on the trail. This version will also fit older forks that could use the upgrade whereas the new Charger 3 will only fit the latest that RockShox has to offer.

SRAM Battery for eTAP, AXS

If you've ever had the pleasure of running out of battery while riding deep in the Colorado backcountry and experiencing the most expensive singlespeed of all time as I have, then you will certainly agree with me when I say it's not a bad idea to carry an extra AXS battery in your emergency kit. While this could easily be avoided by charging your battery when you are riding your bike every day for a week or even checking the battery level in the AXS app (neither of which I did on that fateful day) it's usually a good idea to be prepared, just in case you happened to forget to check it on that day or your riding buddy forgot as well. Don't be like me, the guy who ran out of battery and be the guy who saves the day with a fully charged extra battery.
