Worldwide Cyclery Sponsored Rider: Max Morgan

2016 is a big year for Worldwide Cyclery! For the first time, we will be the presenting sponsor of an entire race series, the Downhill Southeast series which was put together by Neko Mulally. We will also be sponsoring some local races as well as attending events such as the Sedona MTB Festival as well as the Sea Otter Classic. On top of all of this, we are sponsoring our first downhill rider, Max Morgan. When the opportunity presented itself to sponsor Max, we thought it would be a great idea! Not only are we able to promote our brand more on a national level through Max, but we are helping out a great rider who has proven to be a serious contender on the downhill bike.

Max Morgan - Worldwide Cyclery

Max Morgan is originally from Atlanta, Georgia and currently resides in Asheville, North Carolina, surrounded by some of the best mountain bike trails in the U.S. Over the course of Max's five-year professional downhill mountain biking career, he has had the opportunity to travel and race all over the world! During the 2014 season, Max attained his first U.S. Pro Gravity Tour win, finishing 4th overall in the series. Soon after, he was selected to compete in the 2014 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in Hafjell, Norway. Max's achievements go further than the ones achieved on the race course. He has completed two undergraduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Physics from the University of Vermont and Elon University, respectively. After racing, Max hopes to find an engineering position in the mountain bike industry.

For 2016, Max plans to contend for the U.S. ProGRT series title, compete in multiple events at Crankworx Whistler and the Sea Otter classic, and attend a select World Cup schedule.

Currently Max is training and preparing for the upcoming season, and just recently traveled to Caguas Bike Park in Puerto Rico with Neko Mulally for some off season racing.

Max Morgan - Worldwide Cyclery

"I got invited to come down to Puerto Rico, do some riding, racing and check out Caguas Bike Park. Jose and Mateo were putting on a local race and I was happy to go and put some time in on my new bike. The track there was really fun and everyone had a blast! Neko and I did about 50 laps on the track in the three days we were there, trying different suspension settings and handlebar heights. We all got to check out the local scene and eat great food while we were there. When the racing came around, I tried to put down a strong  and  consistent run without riding over my head and I ended up getting the win. Winning always makes things a bit sweeter! Everyone that was a part of organizing the race and all of the people that came out to watch were all so nice and gracious. I want to say thank you to Ricky for having us. I will be back next year!"

Other sponsors:

We are extremely excited about sponsoring Max this season and look forward to helping him get to the top of the box!
