Having a clean mountain bike disc brake rotor is key to maintain stopping power, and an old worn out MTB rotor can also be a dangerous issue waiting to happen. If you are replacing or upgrading your rotors, check out our top brands like SRAM, Shimano, Hope, TRP, Hayes, Magura, Galfer, Jagwire and SwissStop. If you think you need more brake power you can always upgrade to a larger rotor for the front or front and rear of your mountain bike. It's common to go up in 20mm increments. When you do change rotor size make sure you are getting the correct disc brake adaptor to make that rotor fit your bike.
