The PNW Loam grips are a great option to spice up your cockpit. PNW has designed the Loam grips with comfort in mind. They have strategically shaped the grips so that there's padding where it counts for trail vibration while keeping the ends thinner for a better grip feel. The grip pattern has also been laid out so that you're getting the proper grip you need while ensuring a smooth and soft ride. You're sure to be a happy camper picking up a set of these Loam grips! We can’t promise to keep your hands warm as the seasons change, but we can keep your paws feeling fresh with our all new Loam Grip. We packed this grip full of features, like an ultra tacky compound and ergonomic pattern to support your palms and help relieve any fatigue caused by trail chatter. The Loam Grip features two contrasting patterns and these dueling motifs play an important ergonomic role. Thin strips run horizontally across the grip’s surface for enhanced traction and supple feel, while the thicker mountain pattern helps support the pad of your hand. Beefing up this outer zone with a heartier design helps combat compound deterioration, ensures the grip is absorbing more vibration and provides needed structure to support the additional body weight pressing down on this crucial contact point. The pattern isn’t the only thing designed to keep your hands happy. The Loam Grip was purpose built for the demands of Enduro/Trail riding, and developing the right compound for this was extremely important. We needed to identify a blend that was soft enough to absorb vibration, yet firm enough to keep its shape under pressure. After testing many different blends, we picked one that we call the “happy camper” composite, because it strikes a balance between an ultra soft material that wears too quickly and a harder compound that provides no tactile benefits. It’s 2020 and PNW likes to customize everything from our kicks to our vitamins. We wanted to take that customization lifestyle into the world of droppers with the updated Rainier IR. The past version of this post is known for its consistency and reliability. While maintaining those qualities, this new iteration focuses on fitting more bikes and providing refined adjustability for the rider. So how did they do it? First, they leveraged their new tool-less travel adjust system, which allows for a total of 30mm travel reduction in 5mm increments. If you were riding that line between a 170mm and 200mm dropper you can now fine-tune the perfect fit. Like finding the perfect chamois that holds you close but doesn’t create an excess of muffin top. Secondly, the redesigned Rainier is significantly shorter than our other posts. They scrubbed the overall length of the post by minimizing the size of the bottom actuator and shortening the lower tube. Overall length reductions vary by travel but we were able to knock out 27.5mm of the overall length from our 125mm size. Combining all of these changes means this version of the Rainier can fit into more bikes while also maximizing the amount of travel available. That is some pretty nifty design if we do say so ourselves. What does this do for your riding experience? In the past, riders often had to choose a shorter travel post than they would prefer in order to get the correct fit. Now, with the 5mm incremental change riders can get the exact amount of travel they desire. The beauty of this system is the simplicity. You can literally pull off to the side of the trail and adjust the travel with nothing but your fingernail. Seriously, it’s that easy! How to Use the Tool-less Travel Adjust System: Begin by lowering dropper at or below the desired travel length (just make sure it’s not fully extended). Unthread the midcap with your hand and slide it up to reveal the white DU Bushing. You’ll see negative numbers with corresponding notches machined into the post (each number represents decreasing travel). Slide the DU bushing up and rotate it to align the black arrow with the amount of travel you would like to reduce, then seat the arrow into the machined groove. After pushing the DU bushing back down lower the midcap and hand tighten (no need to go overboard!) and ride off into the sunset with the perfect travel for you. Why should burly bikes have all the fun? PNW asked that question when we released their first 27.2 dropper post. The Pine continues the tradition of bringing great, reliable dropper posts to bikes with skinnier tubes, whether it be your classic hardtail, gravel grinder or cyclocross rig. Building on the acclaim of our Rainier 27.2 models, the Pine features two travel sizes, 90mm and 110mm, to accommodate a wider range of bikes. To keep descending even more distraction-free, the Pine features external routing at the midcap rather than the post head, allowing you to keep your cable routing nice and tidy. The PNW Loam XL grips are a great option to spice up your cockpit. We can’t promise to keep your hands warm as the seasons change, but we can keep your paws feeling fresh with our all new Loam Grip XL. We packed this grip full of features, like an ultra tacky compound and ergonomic pattern to support your palms and help relieve any fatigue caused by trail chatter. The Loam Grip XL features two contrasting patterns and these dueling motifs play an important ergonomic role. The Loam Grip XL was purpose built for the demands of Enduro/Trail riding, and developing the right compound for this was extremely important. The PNW Loam XL grips are a great option to spice up your cockpit. The Loam Grip XL was purpose built for the demands of Enduro/Trail riding, and developing the right compound for this was extremely important. Item Specifications Diameter 34mm Width 133.5mm Clamp Standard 22.2 single clamp PNW Loam Grip UPC: 810035873469
