Introducing the All-New 2018 KETL Mountain Apparel Spring/Summer Collection
KETL has quickly become a popular brand for riding gear in the mountain bike world for many reasons but one in particular. The simplicity of their products. Although many will poke fun at the “hipsterish style” of KETL’s gear, there is no arguing that this plain style is timeless. On top of this timeless style is the core backing behind the brand and that is the high quality of each and every product. To each their own, but KETL has done an incredible job at creating a line of gear that will prevent you from walking/riding around as a moving billboard for brands that may or may not support or make you look foolish.
With Summer right around the corner, winter is quickly dissipating. This means it’s time to lock away those long sleeves and jackets and cool off a bit! With some new colors and materials, KETL’s new product line is focused on comfort in those warmer temperatures. The addition of four new products means more variety for you to choose exactly what you need: the Lightweight Overshort, the Long Sleeve SPF 50+ Jersey, the Merino Blend Jersey, and a new Liner Short.
New to the Line is the Lightweight Overshort. Designed to combat the type of stifling midsummer heat that keeps most shorts stuck to your legs, the Lightweight Overshort is crafted using ultra-lightweight Cordura® mini-ripstop with added stretch for mobility. Thoughtful features like an adjustable waist closure, zipper-free gusseted fly, laser-cut integrated belt loops, and a zippered rear pocket make for an overshort that’s comfortable stylish.
Also, a new item to the line-up is the SPF 50+ Jersey. This was constructed using ultra-light and breathable Italian fabric, it provides all-day protection from the sun’s harmful UV rays without causing you to overheat. Like all of KETL’s jerseys, it was designed with a fitted but not too tight cut and plenty of coverage in the rear to cover your bum, without having that annoying bunch up in the front.
Next up is the Merino Blend Jersey. Wool has a come a long way since the thick, itchy sweaters you remember as a kid. KETL’s Merino blend jersey combines soft Merino wool for next-to-skin comfort with durable polyester for the ideal mix of wicking abilities, breathability, and longevity — not to mention odor reduction. Wear it over and over again and watch you’re itchy, uncomfortable memories become distant. Who needs to wash riding gear anyways?
Ast but not least is the Liner Short. Having a good liner short during the summer heat is crucial. KETL’s new liner uses lightweight, breathable Italian fabric and is designed to be worn under an overshort. It offers just the right amount of compression without being too constricting and features a soft, comfortable waistband that moves with you.
Updates to their existing products include a few material changes and color options. All of their Henley-style jerseys — sleeveless, 3/4 sleeve, short sleeve, and long sleeve — have switched to Polartec® Delta fabric which enhances cooling properties and adds more stretch. A desert-inspired color palette of teal, clay, mustard, and sage, this year’s line looks as good as its high-quality technical fabrics perform. Flawless.
KETL has done an incredible job at creating gear you can go to the brewery with after your ride and not get those weird looks for being “that guy”. Wear it to work, to school, or wear it to the birth of your first child. No matter what the occasion you can hop on a bike and enjoy your ride and immediately be as comfortable as ever.
