In this review, one of customers finally gets a hold of a 2018 Fox 36 fork fitted with 170mm of travel. The 36 compliments the Fox DHX2 rear shock quite nicely for one sweet bike. Check it out!
So here is the deal with this fork. I am absolutely in love with it. I have a 2015 Santa Cruz Nomad which came with the 160mm RockShox Pike. I rode that for about 2 years and enjoyed it for the most part, however, I knew it ultimately wasn't the proper fork for the bike. I always saw people riding the Fox forks and lusted after them and imagined what it would be like if I put one on my rig. After getting a Fox rear shock (DHX2) I knew what the next step was going to be in order to complete the setup.
Eventually, I decided to man up and pull the trigger… however, once again the question was not which fork to get, it was do I want 160 or 170mm of travel? I asked myself this question over and over and finally decided the 170 was the way to go. I tend to gravitate towards more downhill oriented trails (see what I did there) and the extra travel has been incredible. It has taken the bike to a whole new level and it has and given the bike a whole new feel in that it feels much more substantial and proper, like the bike was designed to have this fork. The bike has never felt better and like I said, I am in love with it.
I am 100% convinced Fox has the highest quality products on the market and recommend them to everyone who is in the market for a great new upgrade for their bike. I couldn't be happier with the purchase.
